More About Luis B

ADHD and Executive Function Coach

With 22 years of experience as an educator, I’ve had the privilege of teaching high school Spanish and History. In my most recent role, I served as an Ed Tech coach, helping students and teachers incorporate technology into their learning journeys. This diverse experience has allowed me to work with young people from various backgrounds and age groups, and I find great joy in assisting students in reaching their goals.

Apart from my professional background, I have a personal connection to ADHD through my wife, who exhibits ADHD characteristics. By educating myself further about ADHD, I hope to raise awareness and support others facing similar challenges.

When it comes to coaching, my style is rooted in the belief that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. I strive to meet students where they are, without judgment, whether they are ahead or behind in their academic journey. Outside of coaching, I enjoy immersing myself in music, sports, old movies, and learning new things from YouTube, although free time is rare with my little ones around.

I’ve had the opportunity to travel to some incredible places, including New York, Texas, Chicago, Puerto Rico, the UK, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Spain, each offering unique experiences and perspectives. While I don’t play video games myself, I recognize their potential to develop valuable skills for future careers. In my own high school and college years, I was heavily involved in following baseball and attending concerts, which were always exciting experiences for me. As a lover of music, I find it to be an integral part of life. Some of my favorite artists include Prince, U2, Pink Floyd, Mozart, Nickel Creek, Depeche Mode, Thelonious Monk, Outkast, The Beatles, and Kendrick Lamar, among many others. When it comes to creative activities, I like to casually play around with the guitar or piano, although I don’t consider myself a serious musician.

As your coach, I strive to create a supportive and judgment-free environment, meeting you where you are in your academic journey. I believe in fostering connections and am always eager to learn about pop culture, music, and your thoughts on school, as students often have interesting perspectives on the education system.

To sum it up, if you’re looking for a coach who will support and guide you without judgment, I’m here and ready to help. Let’s embark on this journey together!
